How I Came to Be Wee the Cat

I was born on a bright, winter day in 1998, December 22nd to be exact.  It was a special day, a day befitting the birth of a special kitten.  At least this is what my daddy tells me.  He wasn't there that day but he was somewhere nearby, waiting for me to grow up just enough that I could find my way to him.  You see, I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to a beautiful calico cat but I was made especially to have the happiest home any kitten could hope for.
It was nine months later when I found my daddy and he found me.  It was actually on his birthday and he says I'm the best birthday gift he ever received.  I met daddy a week earlier on the steps of our apartment - he was on his way to work and I was just out for a stroll - but he knew I was special, even then.  He stopped and said, "hello, pretty kitty", and I purred at him for the very first time.  The next week would be very, very eventful.
I climbed up to the roof of the building next to daddy's and we spoke to each other for a few minutes.  But then the rain started and I spent the night looking in his window, wishing I could be in there, safe and sound with a big bowl of milk.  The next morning I found my way down and I decided to pay daddy a visit.  So, early the next morning I made the biggest springy jump that my little legs could make and I landed on the balcony - now all I had to do was get daddy to let me in.  Well that part was easy.  When he woke up and came out to get his breakfast he spotted me, patiently waiting at the door, and he let me come inside.  We had our first breakfast together - mine was a yummy dish of tuna and some nice, cold milk.  I was really hungry so it tasted even better than I had expected.
I was finally home.
